Hayden's Story

It's a fact. We all know it. Reports too numerous to calculate have all touched on STRESS in our lives. In addition, if you've read any of these findings, most stress is caused from change. We've all gone through some phase of change and realized we create ways to cope. No matter what your change is, some things seem monumental.

Think back to age six, how upsetting it was if you had to change from sitting at your favorite chair at dinner, or losing your favorite toy. Your world seemed shattered. Due to scheduling as many riders as ROSL can handle (keep in mind our twoyear waiting list), we were forced to make some changes. Our Rising Rider this newsletter is HAYDEN, for learning to deal with change.

Hayden is brimming with curiosity and loves to see each horse, their stall, water bucket and feed tub each week. Hayden's routine even includes checking out the horse teeth and other body parts before each ride. Hayden has a lot of fun and is full of energy. Hayden really works to stay focused and to realize it's OK that Mom has to stay on the outside of the arena fence. Hayden learned to accept Anne as his new therapist and also Mirage for his new mount. Hayden worked on riding in 2 point (rising off the saddle), following directions, participating in activities and met all his goals with Anne. This fall session forced Hayden to deal with a lot of earth-shattering changes, but Hayden, we all give you high fives for what you have accomplished! Thanks for all your cooperation!
