Natalie's Story

Over the past six years, ROSL has been blessed to have a wonderful young girl riding with our program. Smiling, friendly, smart, and funny are just a few adjectives that describe Natalie. Each Wednesday night when Natalie comes for riding, the staff are eager to greet her. It is hard to resist conversing with Natalie since she always has a humorous line or comment about any given situation. Like many young girls and teens, Natalie loves horses and always wanted to ride. Her lessons seem effortless only because of her willing attitude. Ask her to try something, and before you know it, it is done. The CP she has had from birth, not a problem at all. - This is just how Natalie goes about each day. As her instructor, I am always creating exercises to increase her stamina, balance and encourage independent body movement, so she will always feel capable to control and communicate with her mount. This year she has accomplished steadying her hands for rein control, which is so important to the horse. So far, the only challenge for Natalie looks like cantering. (Natalie, you didn't think I'd forget.)

If you watched the demonstration this past summer at our Jazz and Blues Fest then you had the chance to see Natalie riding Shamrock. Natalie also plays in her school band and loves music and drama. It is always a pleasure to work with Natalie. Thanks, Natalie, for being YOU!
