Program Volunteers

Program volunteers train to assist our clients and staff. Program volunteers may be trained to walk next to the side of the horse and provide support and stabilization to our clients who need assistance. Program volunteers are trained for ground activities to help ensure the safety of the client and enhance activities. New program volunteers must complete a mandatory training and be at least 14 years of age. The next training day is scheduled for TBD 2024.

NEW VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER AND CONFIRM SCHEDULE.

This training is a prerequisite for horse handlers and leaders.

Please note there will be limited opportunities for program volunteers in 2024 due to the relocation of our facility. We serve clients seven days a week. As a volunteer during a session, we ask that you commit to several weeks at a time, as consistency is important for our clients. If a program volunteer cannot make their scheduled time, we ask for as much notice as possible in order to find a sub. If we have more program volunteers than needed, we would ask for your help in other areas.

Groups, Grounds & Facility

Volunteers may come individually or as a group (business, school, churches, boy/girl scout troops etc.) and perform age and skill appropriate tasks that may include grounds maintenance (raking, washing fences, picking up sticks), cleaning stalls or tack, painting, repairs or administrative jobs like filling envelopes or typing. Each year, we schedule several work days in order to keep our facility clean and maintained. Up to 20-30 volunteers may be accommodated for work days.

Our next Work Days are scheduled for TBD 2024. Please complete a volunteer form if you'd like to help. (Special arrangements or service days may be set up for your group.)
