Clients are encouraged to perform horsemanship activities directed toward functional goals that translate to everyday activities, challenges and living. Adaptive Riding incorporates horsemanship skills, which can be on the ground and/or mounted activities in a private class or small groups of two to three clients. Sessions consist of a wide variety of cognitive and physical games, challenges and sequencing that are tailored to each client and crafted by our PATH Therapeutic Riding Instructors.

Partaking in a variety of horsemanship activities offers stimulation to muscle groups clients may not utilize, problem solving and increased communication opportunities, and social and sensory integration. With information offered by parents, social workers or teachers, Adaptive Riding sessions meet each client’s individual needs, goals and abilities to achieve the greatest outcomes.

Our approach to equine-assisted activities through customized procedures seeks to improve abilities, bolster the activities of daily living and improve function through a variety of areas.
