Summer Camp Goes Virtual with a Variety Charity Collaboration

Our horses are shedding out those thick winter coats, the grass is growing, the days are sunny, and we're working on new virtual programming! We are excited to have been invited to provide an equine component to Variety the Children's Charity, Summer Adventure & Teen Camp. For the summer of 2021, Variety will be hosting a free on-line camp program for kids and teens with special needs. The program features activities such as games, crafts, virtual field trips, songs and more. Ride On St. Louis will be providing quality educational information through easy to comprehend, highly motivational interactive class components.

Ride On St. Louis is excited to be included in this program to help make it possible for 200 youth to have exciting adventures and meet lifelong friends through shared experiences of equine activities!

“With the success of our 2020 Virtual Programming, we're really looking forward to sharing our unique experiences through our partnership in Variety's camps this summer,” says Ride On St. Louis Founder Marita Wassman who is directing the camp's equine component. Ride On St. Louis first introduced virtual programming in 2020 as in direct response to combat loneliness and isolation throughout the pandemic. “While health and safety remain a priority, especially for people with health challenges, our virtual experiences offer continued service to the most vulnerable during times of need.” Ride On St. Louis served 63 adults with medically complex disabilities and their caregivers in 2020 virtual programming, and projects to serve an additional 200 youth in the upcoming collaboration with Variety.

“We are incredibility blessed by God to be able to share our beautiful horses with people in need, and ever thankful to our friends and donors who help support our mission. Every donation has a direct impact on someone's life,” Marita continues, “and with Give STL Day around the corner, please keep Ride On St. Louis in mind as we work to craft some amazing experiences, memories, friendships and health benefits for the children campers. If you're able to give, know that you make a difference and your gift means the world to us.”
